Auf ihrem Pfad als Afro­spar­ta­ne­rin hyp­no­ti­siert sie nicht nur mit ihrer Stim­me und ihren Charme, son­dern vor allem über­zeugt sie mit ihrer Atti­tu­de, Mes­sa­ge und Hal­tung. In Mom­ba­sa gebo­ren und in Köln auf­ge­wach­sen führt sie ihren drei­spra­chi­gen, selbst­be­wuss­ten Dis­kurs über Frau­en­feind­lich­keit und Sexis­mus, Ras­sis­mus und Unter­drü­ckung, trans­kul­tu­rel­ler Soli­da­ri­tät und Post-Iden­ti­tä­rem Empower­ment. In ihrer Musik ver­bin­det sie Rap, Soul, R&B, Dance­hall und Afrobeats.

Mit drei EPs, 14 Video-Sin­gles, unzäh­li­gen Auf­trit­ten und meh­ren Kol­la­bo­ra­tio­nen mit Künstler*innen aus Zen­tral Ame­ri­ka, Afri­ka und Euro­pa, begeis­tert sie, nicht nur das deutsch­spra­chi­ge Publi­kum, immer wie­der aufs Neue.

Loud, direct and fearless, Lei­la Aki­nyi laun­ched her care­er as a hip-hop artist and sin­ger in 2016. On her path as an Afro-Par­tan, she not only hyp­no­ti­ses with her voice and charm, but abo­ve all con­vin­ces with her atti­tu­de, mes­sa­ge and stance. Born in Mom­ba­sa and rai­sed in Colo­gne, she leads her tri­lin­gu­al, self-con­fi­dent dis­cour­se on miso­gy­ny and sexism, racism and oppres­si­on, trans­cul­tu­ral soli­da­ri­ty and post-iden­ti­ta­ri­an empower­ment. Her music com­bi­nes rap, soul, R&B, dance­hall and Afrobeats.

With three EPs, 14 video sin­gles, count­less per­for­man­ces and seve­ral col­la­bo­ra­ti­ons with artists from Cen­tral Ame­ri­ca, Afri­ca and Euro­pe, she con­ti­nues to inspi­re not only Ger­man-spea­king audiences.
