Beyond Fear – Art and Politics in Emotional Times
Panel with Liya Yu and Olexii Dorichevsky, moderated by Dorothea Marcus
The feeling of fear can be an important warning sign of danger, yet it can also be paralyzing. Focusing on threats can therefore reinforce individual and societal fears—including fears about the future—which further restrict our scope for action. In the panel “Beyond Fear,” Liya Yu, a philosopher specializing in neuropolitics, and Olexii Dorichevsky, a Ukrainian theater artist and soldier, will discuss whether and how fear can also present an opportunity for navigating times of crisis.
