unruly readings
Starting in August, the unruly readings series at the Orangerie Theater enters its second round. This literature and performance series invites authors who work performatively and challenge conventional forms of literary presentation. On three afternoons, the stages of the Orangerie Theater will be transformed into sites of literary performances that engage with precarious realities and explore moments of defiance within them: they trace fleeting places, capture unruly emotions with eloquence, and make the poetic power of marginalized languages tangible.
Each unruly readings event is accompanied by a shared meal, offering space for conversation between the audience and the authors. This year’s three events focus on the themes unruly places, unruly feelings, and unruly poetry.
